From the President
Did you know that this will be the 115 th year that Bondi ASC Club has
been in operation? Why not try and find out more about your historic Club.
It has a very interesting past.
If members or parents have any queries, the officials of the
Club would be only too happy to try to resolve your problems. We fully
understand that new members are sometimes uncertain, and we would be
pleased to help.
Entries must be lodged, in the Clubroom, by 9.10 am. Entries lodged after this are classed as “Late entries” and the swimmer will only receive one point for this swim.
We gather on the Starting Blocks at 9.20 am for a pre-race information talk, some instruction on today’s strokes, or some information from the Secretary or President, whatever the occasion demands, and then swimming races commence at 9.30 am SHARP.
FEES:
Our annual fees run from 1 st April to 31 st March each year. They are $35.00 per member. The NSWASA has introduced a new category for non-swimming members – so parents, here’s your chance to become a member of the Club and to stand with us holding a watch or clipboard in all types of weather – and enjoy yourself immensely.
All fees must be paid promptly to comply with current strict rules involving “insurance”. One swim only will be allowed before fees are paid, i.e. ALL fees must be paid before a 2 nd competitive swim can be made.
FREE LEARN-TO-SWIM LESSONS:
FREE Learn-to-Swim lessons are available to non swimmers over 5 years.
These free lessons are conducted by AUSSWIM instructors, and will commence
on Saturday 5th November at 8:00 am continuing each Saturday through to the
end of March. For insurance purposes participants must join the BASC at a
cost of $35.00 per year.
Advanced swimmers wanting to improve their stroke or compete in inter club,
State or National competition can have professional squad training or stroke
correction. The advanced training will be conducted by Pool Manager, Olympic
finalist and Level 2 Performance Coach Neil Rogers. For information about
times and fees for squad training and stroke correction classes contact Mr
Rogers.
FUND RAISING:
From time to time we will be running fund-raising events and sometimes raffles on Saturday mornings. Please support us in these endeavours as the money raised goes to supplying trophies for the swimmers at the end of the season.
CLUB COSTUMES:
We have a supply of Club costumes in stock and will be getting more as the season progresses. Please see the Treasure for details of sizes, prices, etc.
Let’s make sure that this 2006-2007 season will be a GREAT one.
